If Britons were left to tax themselves…

“If Britons were left to tax themselves, there would be no schools, no hospitals, just a 500-mile-high statue of Diana, Princess of Wales” – Andy Zaltzman

Summer holiday is over… but here are the photos

7 Jul 2008 In: Europe, Travel

Just got back from a great trip. Rented a car at CDG in Paris (got upgraded after some dodgy under the table cash with the lady on the desk). Stuck in traffic getting out of Paris then toured the countryside near Fontainbleu eventually arriving at a great B&B in the evening - Les Roches. Great few days around Burgundy eating cheeses, drinking wine and becoming fatter. Thereafter took off for Geneva to stay with Ulrik, Lucia, Per, Alessandra and Sanne (thankyou all for having us) - swimming in the lake and getting badly sun burned whilst canoeing (a double kayak always a good test of a relationship). Ended with somedays in Provence - firstly at a B&B near Gordes and then with friends of Lene’s in Avignon (thanks Didier and Susanne), finally after being stuck in traffic again we got to Nice late enough on the final night to take in the old town.

Sankt Hans photos

Nick came over to visit for Sankt Hans aften - the annual cross between the wicker man and bonfire night that takes place in Denmark a couple of days after midsummer night.

Matheo, Tina and Knut

7 Jun 2008 In: Family and friends

Knut and Tina had Matheo’s christening followed by Tina’s 30th birthday. These are some rather random pictures. But many thanks to you all for such a great night (I especially like the glasses). And apologies for the keg throwing competition at 4am.

North Zealand… art and picnics

When mum was over here at the end of May we visited the Northern part of Zealand, stopping off at Tegner’s museum, an open air sculpture park in the middle of nowhere. Pictures on picasaweb.

Copenhagen Architecture and Design Days

16 May 2008 In: Art and design, Denmark

Pictures looking at lighting in Copenhagen and the central police station.

From a series of walks we had with CPH ADD (not Attention Deficit Disorder though it did get that way during some of the boring bits…).

… very true… don’t drink out of the taps in this place. Stick to bottled water (or Heineken).

However you can check out the photos from the holiday.

About this blog

Jamie Brammer has this site so that friends and family can see what is happening in his life outside of work. He always meant this site to be more that just a set of links to some photos but really can’t find the time to get into blogging properly.

If you don’t know me then here’s the boring bit: Jamie Brammer lives in Denmark in the middle of Copenhagen with his girlfriend Lene. He grew up in the countryside just outside Blackpool but moved on after 18 years to study medicine at St. Andrews and Oxford. After a few years as a doctor he left to work in healthcare IT. In 2000 he moved to Denmark to work with NetDoctor as part of the .com boom before co-founding his own company, Avaleo, in 2005.
